Postdoctoral Fellow or Experienced Master’s Graduate in Phage–Antibiotic Combinations and HFIM at Université catholique de Louvain

Université catholique de Louvain is recruiting a researcher for a project on phage–antibiotic combinations to tackle multidrug-resistant bacteria . The work is centered on the Hollow Fiber Infection Model (HFIM) , a preclinical in vitro pharmacodynamic system used to simulate drug concentration fluctuations over time and to better understand phage–antibiotic interactions under clinically relevant conditions. The position is hosted by the Cellular and Molecular Pharmacology Lab within the Louvain Drug Research Institute, in Brussels. The lab describes an international and multidisciplinary environment with technical support available. The appointment is an 18-month contract starting in September 2026 . Research focus: bacteriophages, antibiotics, antimicrobial resistance, pharmacokinetic modeling, sampling and analytical procedures, and HFIM-based experimental design. Eligibility highlights: applicants should hold a PhD or Master’s degree with substantial HFIM experience. Strong skills in PK modeling , sampling, and analysis are required. Experience with bacteriophages is considered an asset. The team is looking for someone who is autonomous, collaborative, and comfortable working in English and/or French. Application deadline: July 8, 2026 . Interested candidates are asked to send a CV, academic degrees, a cover letter, and at least one letter of recommendation to Prof. Françoise Van Bambeke.
