PhD in Research Ethics and Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in Clinical Trials

UMC Utrecht is advertising a PhD position in research ethics within the EDICT project: Advancing Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in Clinical Trials , a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Doctoral Network. The successful candidate will join the Bioethics and Health Humanities environment at UMC Utrecht and work on ethical and conceptual questions around fairness, inclusion, and equity in clinical trials . The project themes include conceptual analysis of fairness and inclusion in research, ethical challenges and opportunities of current EDI approaches in trials, an in-depth ethical assessment of a specific EDI-related topic, and development of an ethical framework for trialists and ethics committees. This is a doctoral training network with 16 PhD students across Europe. The post is suitable for candidates with a strong interest in bioethics, medical research ethics, clinical trials, and health humanities . Eligibility highlight: a mobility rule applies. The researcher must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the Netherlands for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately before the contract starts.
