About this position

Texas Southern University is hiring for an Academia and Health Services Postdoc Fellow in the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. This is a two-year, grant-funded postdoctoral fellowship designed for PharmD or allied health doctoral graduates who want to build a career in academia, health services research, community engagement, and clinical practice.

The fellowship centers on implementing a clinical trial to improve blood pressure management for pregnant women with hypertensive disorders in pregnancy through pharmacist-led Medication Therapy Management (MTM) and Community Health Worker (CHW)-led resource support. The role combines research training, teaching, clinical service, and community outreach, with opportunities to work on community-based participatory research, present at conferences, and publish manuscripts.

Ideal applicants include recent PharmD graduates who are already licensed, or May 2026 graduates who can be licensed within 90 days of hire. Applicants should have an active Texas license in good standing or be able to obtain licensure within 90 days after employment. A PGY1 background is considered a plus. The posting also prefers candidates with additional training in public health, social determinants of health, or related fields, and values bilingual ability.

Responsibilities include formal research training, a university teaching certificate program, CITI and other required research training, literature review, journal club participation, manuscript and poster preparation, community engagement and health outreach, clinical service, and teaching/precepting students and community health workers.

Funding details listed in the posting include a hiring range of $50,035.36-$63,795.08. The position is open until filled. Applicants should apply through the Texas Southern University applicant portal and submit the required application materials.
