About this position

Candidates, thank you for your interest in my research group and the strong response towards these positions. I received so many applications that I am still trying to respond to in a timely manner. Please see below for the official application link and detailed instructions. My ?? PBEnergyLab group is looking for one PhD-level graduate student, and multiple MS-level graduate students with the background of advanced material syntheses, electron microscopy, and electrochemistry to join my group to work on both fundamental science and industrial application-oriented projects, starting Spring 2025. About the positions: These positions will be working very closely with our US university and US national laboratory partners to develop inorganic electrolytes for Na- and Li-ion batteries by implementing innovative synthetic strategies. For each position, a strong motivation for hands-on system design & development, experimentation, and invention is highly desired!Application process: Applications for Spring 2025 will be evaluated on ongoing basis, starting immediately. Please follow the instructions here: https://lnkd.in/gHuTKEE7 Applications for the spring are initially evaluated on the *third week of September 2025* though applications are considered until November 1st. These positions are open to both US citizens (strongly encouraged to apply if your skillsets match) and international candidates (encouraged to apply early to make room for potential delays from visa paperwork). PhD graduate researchers are fully paid positions through teaching or research assistantships, which does not apply to MS positions. MS positions have the possibility of conversion to PhD on the basis of performance. All students are expected to start on 01/2025. Your future research statement in your application should have a strong correlation with ongoing activities in my lab. Lab culture: My lab's priorities are the following: constant cultivation of a respectful and friendly working environment, strong adherence to safety protocols, development of intellectual leadership in research projects early in the career, enrichment through collaborations with universities, national labs and industry: personnel, projects and infrastructure; strategic career planning with the PI, mentoring opportunities, generous funding for conference travel and professional development activities- all at the bustling city of Chicago with iconic architecture, cultural scene, and Lake Michigan waterfront right across the campus! https://pbanerjeelab.com/…more ??The PBEnergyLab is currently being set up at Loyola University Chicago! We will have dedicated synthetic and electrochemical characterization equipment in our lab: to lead materials discovery projects towards all-solid (Na-ion) batteries. ????? ????? We are currently recruiting students (PhD, MS and Undergrad) and scholars (visiting scholars with a background in either microfluidics or electrochemistry are especially welcome). Please reach out to me at pbanerjee_at_luc_dot_edu if interested! We will put out a separate ad for interested postdoc scholars to apply at a later date.hashtag#chemistry hashtag#newPI hashtag#synthesis hashtag#energymaterials Here is a nice view from our lab of the quad, with Lake Michigan, or "The Lake" just around the corner! ??…more
