Applicants are sought in a wide range of geoscience areas, including but not limited to petroleum geology and basin analysis, unconventional oil and gas (such as shale oil/gas and tight reservoirs), deep and ultra-deep reservoir formation mechanisms, sedimentary facies and sequence stratigraphy, source-to-sink systems, integrated multi-scale reservoir characterization, petrophysics and rock physics, integrated geology–geophysics–engineering workflows, AI-driven subsurface modeling, digital twin and smart reservoir systems, geothermal energy exploration and development, hydrothermal and enhanced geothermal systems, geothermal reservoir simulation and engineering, helium geology and rare gas resources, hydrogen resources and subsurface storage, and subsurface energy and carbon storage (including CCUS and CO₂–EOR/CO₂–EGR).

Candidates should have a strong research background in geosciences or related fields, with a demonstrated commitment to advancing frontier research. A PhD in a relevant discipline is required, and experience in research areas such as basin analysis, reservoir characterization, geothermal or hydrogen resources, or carbon storage is highly desirable.
