The University of Notre Dame's Keough School of Global Affairs is offering fully funded PhD Fellowships in Sustainable Development. This exceptional doctoral program is designed to prepare scholars and leaders to advance sustainability worldwide, focusing on the flourishing of people and planet. Faculty research addresses critical issues such as conservation, pollution, climate change, environmental governance, poverty, inequality, and related Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through an interdisciplinary and policy-relevant approach.

The program is STEM-designated and highly interdisciplinary, combining world-class mentorship and engaged scholarship across social sciences, business, and engineering. Students benefit from comprehensive financial support, including a full tuition scholarship, a 12-month renewable stipend for living expenses, health insurance subsidy, and up to $4,000 for conference travel and professional development. Research activities are dedicated to improving human well-being, especially among vulnerable populations, while safeguarding the planet.

PhD fellows have ample opportunities to engage in team-based and field-based research projects through the university's centers and institutes, and participate in major initiatives on sustainability, democracy, ethics, energy, data sciences, and artificial intelligence. The program emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration and policy impact, drawing on Notre Dame's strategic priorities in climate, sustainability, data science, democracy, ethics, health, and poverty research.
