The University of Edinburgh is offering a fully-funded ESRC PhD studentship focused on the educational experiences of neurodivergent young people. The project, led by Dr Katie Cebula (Senior Lecturer in Developmental Psychology), Dr Michael Fleming, and Dr Patricio Troncoso, aims to explore how social inequalities and child/family factors influence school attendance among neurodivergent students. The research will employ quantitative analysis of administrative data and will actively involve a neurodivergent youth advisory group to ensure the study design and findings reflect lived experiences.

This 3.5-year studentship includes a funded placement and the option of a funded master's degree. The project is a collaboration with the Salvesen Mindroom Research Centre, Mindroom, and the Joseph Rowntree Foundation (JRF). Both international and home students are encouraged to apply. Applicants should have a strong academic background in psychology, education, or a related field, and an interest in quantitative research methods. The studentship covers tuition fees and provides a stipend for living expenses.
