The Department of Forest Resources and Environmental Conservation at Virginia Tech is seeking a motivated MS student to join a research project in Forest & Invasive Plant Ecology, starting Fall 2026. The research focuses on understanding why invasive woody climbers succeed in North American forests and whether native and non-native species differ in establishment, performance, and climate sensitivity. The student will be involved in germination and greenhouse experiments, seed and stem collection across regional field sites, plant physiological measurements, data analysis using R, and contributing to scientific publications and conferences.
