About this position
We are looking for a PhD student to join the Biological and Environmental Engineering graduate program for admission in Spring 2025. The position is part of a project in collaboration between Prof. Andrea Giometto, Prof. Meredith Silberstein and Prof. Nikolaos Bouklas. The student will be an active member of the Engineered Living Materials Institute (https://elmi.cornell.edu/) at Cornell University.The goal for this project is to engineer and evolve Bacillus subtilis spores to germinate in the presence of alternative germinants for applications in the field of Engineered Living Materials. We are looking for candidates with previous wetlab experience and research interests in Synthetic Biology, Bacterial Genetics, or Molecular Biology.The application deadline is Oct 1.
