The School of Energy and Power Engineering at the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST) is inviting applications for 1–2 Master's and 1 PhD position(s) for the September 2026 intake. The research group, led by Faculty Member Soheil Mohtaram, focuses on a range of cutting-edge topics in the field of energy engineering, including renewable and sustainable energy systems, heat transfer, thermodynamics, energy storage, battery thermal management, regional integrated energy systems, hybrid energy systems and optimization, as well as low-carbon and energy-efficiency technologies.

Applicants should possess a strong academic background in energy, mechanical, thermal, power, or related engineering fields. Good English proficiency and a high motivation for research and publication are essential. PhD candidates are expected to demonstrate clear research potential and independence.
