PhD Holder Researcher in Analytical Chemistry (ElectroAnalytical Sensors for Early Detection of Fire Blight) REQUIMTE - Rede de Quimica e Tecnologia in Portugal

This international call from REQUIMTE - Rede de Quimica e Tecnologia seeks a PhD holder researcher for a full-time, non-fixed term contract in Analytical Chemistry, specifically in ElectroAnalytical science. The position is part of the project 'Desenvolvimento de um biossensor portátil de campo como um dispositivo específico e confiável para a deteção precoce da doença do fogo bacteriano', funded by FEDER (COMPETE 2030) and national funds by FCT/MECI. The research aims to develop electroanalytical sensors for the early detection of Erwinia amylovora (fire blight) in fruit trees, contributing to agri-food safety and plant disease management.

The workplace is at the Faculdade de Farmácia da Universidade do Porto, and the monthly remuneration is set at 2,408.11 Euros, corresponding to level 33 of the Single Salary Table. The selection panel includes Professora Catedrática Maria da Conceição Branco da Silva (chairperson), Professora Doutora Cristina Maria Fernandes Delerue Alvim de Matos, and Professora Doutora Maria Beatriz Vasques Quinaz Garcia. The panel will evaluate candidates based on scientific and curricular merit, focusing on achievements in the last five years, including scientific production, research activities, knowledge dissemination, and science management.

Applicants must hold a doctorate degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences or a related scientific field, with a strong scientific and professional curriculum. Specific requirements include at least 15 scientific publications in electroanalytical science and the development and validation of analytical methods for agri-food samples. Candidates with foreign doctorates must comply with Portuguese recognition procedures. The evaluation criteria include scientific coherence, diversity and quality of scientific indicators, participation in research projects and student supervision, and proven experience in developing potentiometric sensors and flow systems. Only candidates scoring at least 50% in these parameters are eligible for further consideration.
