Kennesaw State University is seeking a motivated PhD student to join the research group of Assistant Professor Yu (Brooke) Zhao in the College of Computing and Software Engineering (CCSE), starting Fall 2026. The position is focused on eXtended Reality (AR, VR, MR) and human-centered computing, with opportunities to work on interdisciplinary research at the intersection of Human-Computer Interaction, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Digital Media Technology.

Applicants should have a BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction, Digital Media Technology, or a closely related field. A passion for interdisciplinary, human-centered research and strong English writing and communication skills are required. Preferred candidates will have experience with VR/AR/MR, HCI, AI/ML, Unity, Unreal, C#/C++/Python, and human-subject studies or empirical methods.

The position offers a competitive stipend of approximately $2,400 per month and a full tuition waiver.
