The University of Warwick is offering up to three Departmental PhD Fellowships in Psychology for students commencing in October 2026. These fellowships are designed for projects supervised by Dr Alice Chan, Dr Matthew Mak, and Dr Marina Mendonca, whose research interests span behavioural science, lifespan health and wellbeing, and language and learning. Warwick’s Department of Psychology is renowned for its cutting-edge research and commitment to educating students in the scientific study of the human mind, brain, and behaviour.

Applicants must hold at least an Upper Second Class undergraduate degree in Psychology or a related field, with preference given to those with a First Class degree or a Master’s distinction. International qualifications equivalent to UK standards are accepted, and international applicants must also meet the English language entry requirements. The application process requires submission of a CV (maximum 2 pages), a cover letter (maximum 2 pages) detailing suitability, background, and research interests, and a structured research proposal (maximum 2,000 words, with up to 3 figures and a reference list excluded from the word count). The quality and fit of the proposal with the supervisor’s research interests are key selection criteria.
