About this position

Ghent University is seeking a post-doctoral assistant in Organizational Psychology for a temporary two-year appointment within the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences. The position is designed to strengthen the discipline of organizational psychology and provide postdoctoral researchers with valuable experience in research, teaching, and academic service. The successful candidate will spend at least 70% of their time on academic research and will also assist in teaching activities at the Bachelor’s and/or Master’s level, including counseling and evaluating Master’s students in their dissertations and doctoral students. The role includes organizing, delivering, and evaluating courses such as “Teams and Work Motivation” and “Leadership and Multilevel Research in Organizations,” which are taught in English, while supervision of master’s theses requires Dutch language proficiency. Applicants must hold a doctoral degree (preferably in Psychology) and have demonstrated research experience in organizational psychology or related domains, with a record of international peer-reviewed publications. Experience with data analysis in R and multi-level modeling is required. For degrees awarded outside the EU, a certificate of equivalence (NARIC) must be provided. The appointment starts no earlier than January 1, 2026, and cannot be renewed. Remuneration is according to salary scale AAP5, and staff benefits include paid leave, training opportunities, bicycle commuting reimbursement, and ecocheques. For diplomas awarded outside the European Union, a certificate of equivalence (NARIC) must be submitted. Candidates must have conducted research in organizational psychology or related domains, have a record of relevant scientific publications in international peer-reviewed journals, and experience with data analysis in R and multi-level modeling. Knowledge of Dutch is required for supervising master's theses, and knowledge of English is required for teaching certain courses. Interest in coaching students at various levels is expected.
