About this position
QuTech at Delft University of Technology is advertising a Postdoc position in germanium spin qubits, quantum computing, and semiconductor qubit benchmarking. The role sits in the Scappucci Lab and the QARPET team (Qubit-Array Research Platform for Engineering and Testing), a crossbar-array architecture for statistical characterization and benchmarking of hundreds of qubits in germanium.
The project focuses on the measurement, characterization, and analysis of germanium hole spin qubits in novel material stacks. The successful candidate will investigate how material disorder, variability, and imperfections affect key qubit metrics such as coherence, stability, and reproducibility. The work is strongly experimental and is oriented toward solid-state qubit measurements, cryogenic measurements, and microwave control hardware.
Eligibility highlights: PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field; hands-on experience with solid-state qubit measurement and control; experience with dilution refrigerators and microwave control; strong programming and large-scale data analysis skills.
Funding and conditions: 2-year postdoctoral contract, 38–40 hours per week, salary and benefits according to the Dutch collective labour agreement, plus pension, leave, training, and relocation support. No specific salary amount is listed in the post.
Application window: apply online by 2026-04-19. Upload a CV and motivational letter through the application portal. Applications sent by email or post will not be processed.
Contact: Giordano Scappucci ([email protected]). The post also references a Nature Electronics article on a crossbar chip for benchmarking semiconductor spin qubits and links to the full vacancy page for details and application.
