Join the Microwave Electronics Laboratory (MEL) at Chalmers University of Technology as a postdoctoral researcher and contribute to cutting-edge research in integrated circuits for full-duplex communication and sensing. MEL is one of the largest divisions within the Department of Microtechnology and Nanoscience, with over 40 researchers working on high-speed electronic components, circuits, and systems for communication, industrial, and remote sensing applications across 1 GHz to 500 GHz and beyond. The laboratory offers state-of-the-art facilities for advanced microwave, millimeter wave, and sub-terahertz measurements.
This postdoctoral project focuses on developing novel integrated microwave circuit architectures to address the challenges of in-band full-duplex (IBFD) operation in MIMO systems, particularly the mitigation of self-interference. The research will target the 7–20 GHz frequency range and involve both RFIC/CMOS and MMIC implementations. You will have access to advanced semiconductor technologies and world-class measurement facilities at the Kollberg Laboratory. The project is highly collaborative, involving experts in antennas, RF circuits, and digital signal processing, aiming for co-optimized solutions to maximize full-duplex MIMO performance.
As a postdoc, you will conduct independent and collaborative research, lead and co-author scientific publications, participate in joint activities with academic and industrial partners, and contribute to the supervision of PhD and MSc students. The position is full-time for two years, with the possibility of a one-year extension, and requires physical presence in Gothenburg, Sweden. Applicants must have a PhD in electrical engineering, engineering physics, or a related field, with strong expertise in RF/microwave engineering, analog/RFIC design, and/or MMIC design.
