Postdoc Researcher in Environmental Control of Plant and Algae Growth (ref. 12/2026) Centre de Recerca Agrigenòmica in Spain

The Centre de Recerca Agrigenòmica (CRAG) in Bellaterra, Spain, is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the group focused on Environmental Control of Plant and Algae Growth. CRAG is a leading independent research institution specializing in both basic and applied plant and farm animal sciences, and is a consortium of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology (IRTA), Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), and University of Barcelona (UB). The center is located at the UAB Campus and hosts a diverse international community of over 200 researchers.

The research programs at CRAG span from fundamental science to applied research, utilizing plant experimental model systems, crops, and farm animals. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing CRISPR in microalgae, characterizing chloroplast biogenesis in Chlamydomonas reinhardtii, and identifying new transcriptional regulators in Chlamydomonas reinhardtii. The position is ideal for researchers with a strong background in molecular biology, microalgae, and plant sciences, and offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative projects in environmental control and genetic engineering.

Applicants must hold a PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field, with doctoral research focused on microalgae. Essential qualifications include experience with molecular biology techniques in microalgae, proficiency in CRISPR applications, and expertise in chloroplast biogenesis and transcriptional regulation. A good command of English is required.
