About this position
The University of Luxembourg invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher in Educational Sciences within the Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences (FHSE). The successful candidate will join the Institute for Teaching and Learning in the Department of Education and Social Work, working closely with Professor Dr Janne Fengler.
The postdoctoral researcher will contribute to research on the contexts and processes of learning and teaching, supporting both content-related and organizational aspects of the professorship. Responsibilities include conducting independent and project-related research at the intersection of education and social work, applying for and organizing third-party funding, publishing in peer-reviewed journals (preferably in English and/or German), teaching in the Bachelor en Formation Pédagogique program, supervising students and doctoral candidates, and supporting the development of educational programs and networks with stakeholders. The role also involves transferring research results to diverse audiences, from scientific and political communities to the broader public, and participating in academic self-administration at the institute, department, and faculty levels.
Applicants must hold an excellent PhD in Educational Sciences, ideally with expertise in areas such as experiential or outdoor education, didactics, teaching-learning research, university didactics, future skills, teacher education, victimology, social inequality, or social participation. Fluency in English and either German or French is required, with additional language skills considered an asset. Candidates should demonstrate strong interest in educational science, advanced methodological skills (qualitative and/or quantitative), a record of international publications, teaching experience, project management abilities, and a proactive, team-oriented attitude.
The position offers a fixed-term contract of 24 months, with a yearly gross salary of EUR 85,176 (full time).
