About this position

The University of Luxembourg invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher in quantitative data analysis at the Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History (C²DH). This interdisciplinary research centre is dedicated to high-quality research and public dissemination in contemporary history, with a strong emphasis on digital methods and tools. The successful candidate will join the VOICES project, supporting and accomplishing data analysis and quantitative modelling, designing and executing pipelines for information extraction, and post-processing data sets. The role also includes participation in outreach activities and co-authoring scientific articles and conference papers.

Applicants should hold a PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or a related field, and demonstrate advanced experience in quantitative research and data science. Advanced knowledge of Python is required, and experience with AI, git, and multimodal (audio and video) data is considered an asset. Candidates must be proficient in English and able to work both independently and collaboratively. The position offers a dynamic, multilingual, and international environment, with staff from over 90 countries and close ties to the business world and Luxembourg labour market.

The contract is for a fixed term of 12 months, full-time (40 hours per week), based at the Belval Campus. The annual gross salary is EUR 85,176.
