This PhD project explores sustained treatment effects in irritable bowel syndrome, a common disorder of gut-brain interaction. The candidate will contribute to a large, international, randomised controlled trial using an internet-based treatment (dietary or behavioural therapy). The project will use a mixed-methods approach to investigate long-term symptom outcomes, gut microbiome dynamics, and participant experiences. Based within a multidisciplinary team, this project aims to inform personalised, scalable approaches to IBS care.
