The Project: The School of AMME Fuels and Clean Combustion Group ( https://lnkd.in/gwY_GgWF ) are developing a new instrumented physical test platform with the capability to test the viability of using net zero carbon fuels for turbulent combustion applications. Our aim is to undertake a rigorous experimental study to understand the physical processes of turbulent liquid atomization, dispersion, and spray combustion for specific blends of e-fuels, i.e. carbon based fuels derived from renewable energy sources and CO2 capture. You will use state of the art high speed diagnostics.
What we are looking for: You should be ready to start this year or latest towards the beginning of next year and have the equivalent of a First Class Honours degree, and have already completed a significant research project/thesis (at BE Honours or at Masters Level). You should be very interested in designing and building challenging imaging & sensing experiments, and have a strong interest in fluid dynamics & thermodynamics. You should have a degree in Aerospace, Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering or closely related discipline.
Email me with a CV and academic transcript if you are interested ( [email protected] )-use subject header "PhD Scholarship-ARC EFuels". Deadline is 22nd May 5PM (Local time in Sydney).
