Postdoctoral Researcher in Economics (Scholars at Risk) at University of Amsterdam

The Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Amsterdam is offering a one-year postdoctoral position as part of the Scholars at Risk project, specifically dedicated to a scholar from Gaza. This opportunity is open to candidates who have completed a PhD in Economics or a closely related field. The position welcomes applicants with a broad range of research interests, including microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, education economics, health economics, behavioral economics, environmental economics, and finance. The successful candidate will join the Amsterdam School of Economics (ASE) and will be expected to dedicate 20% of their time to teaching activities, such as leading tutorials and supervising student theses. The gross monthly salary ranges from €3,546 to €5,538, depending on experience, and is based on a 38-hour work week. Additional financial benefits include an end-of-year bonus (8.3%) and a holiday allowance (8%), in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement (CAO) for Dutch Universities. The University of Amsterdam is committed to supporting scholars from Gaza by providing comprehensive administrative assistance, including help with the Dutch visa application process, residency permits, and relocation guidance.
