2 Doctoral Researchers in Industrial Engineering and Management, Faculty of Technology
The University of Oulu, a leading multidisciplinary and international research university in Finland, is seeking two doctoral researchers to join the Industrial Engineering and Management (IEM) unit within the Faculty of Technology. As a doctoral researcher, you will contribute to either the circular economy-focused FREIMAN project or the construction industry-oriented AI Champion project. The FREIMAN project explores business opportunities in remanufacturing, data-driven business models, and product development, while the AI Champion project develops artificial intelligence agents to improve automation and information flow in building services engineering supply chains. Both projects offer the opportunity to work at the intersection of technology, management, and business innovation.

Eligibility requires a master’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Management, strong English language skills, and preferably Finnish language proficiency due to collaboration with local stakeholders. Practical work experience and research expertise are advantageous, alongside excellent teamwork, cooperation, and analytical skills. The position is a full-time, fixed-term appointment for three years, with a gross monthly salary of approximately 2600-3200 € (before taxes), determined by the Finnish university demand level chart and personal performance. A six-month trial period applies.
