Fully Funded PhD Studentships for Black UK Residents in Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, and Business at King's College London

King's College London is offering the Harold Moody Postgraduate Research Studentships for the 2026/27 academic year, providing full funding for Black UK residents to pursue a PhD in the Faculty of Arts & Humanities, Social Science & Public Policy, or King's Business School. The scheme, named after King's alumnus and civil activist Dr Harold Moody, aims to support Black British students who are eligible for home fees. Five studentships are available, each covering full tuition fees, an annual UKRI-rate stipend (£22,780 for 2025/26), and research costs up to £1,000 per year. The studentship also includes a skills development programme to enhance research and professional capabilities. Applicants must be UK-permanent residents and identify as Black British, Black or Black British African, Black or Black British Caribbean, Black or Black British other, or Mixed Black. The opportunity is open to those applying for a PhD to start in 2026/27; current doctoral students, distance learning, MD(Res), professional doctorates, and joint PhDs are not eligible. The application process involves submitting an online application via King's Apply, including the funding code 2627-THM, and ensuring all supporting documents and references are provided by the specified deadlines. King's Doctoral College offers guidance and online sessions to assist applicants. The deadline for applications is 12 April 2026, with supporting documents due by 26 April 2026. Successful candidates are expected to secure an admission offer by 10 June 2026. This studentship is an excellent opportunity for Black UK residents seeking to advance their research careers in a supportive and inclusive academic environment at King's College London.
