Graduate (Master/PhD) and Postdoctoral Positions in Infrastructure Seismic Resilience, AI, and Disaster Risk Reduction
Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) is inviting applications for fully funded graduate (Master/PhD) and postdoctoral positions in an international collaborative research project on Infrastructure Seismic Resilience. The project is funded by the e-ASIA Joint Research Program (e-ASIA JRP) under the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management theme, with research activities hosted at ITB and collaborations with University of Tsukuba (Japan), Zhejiang University (China), and Nanyang Technological University (Singapore).
The research focuses on developing data-driven approaches to enhance the resilience of infrastructure systems such as bridges, buildings, and transportation networks. Key topics include artificial intelligence for structural damage assessment, digital twins, remote sensing, multi-scale structural data integration, and post-earthquake infrastructure assessment. The project aims to advance earthquake engineering, structural health monitoring, and smart infrastructure through international collaboration and cutting-edge research.
Funding is provided by BRIN – Manajemen Talenta, covering both Master/PhD and postdoctoral programs. The application deadlines are 27 March 2026 for graduate positions and 31 March 2026 for postdoctoral positions. Applicants should have a background in relevant fields such as civil engineering, earthquake engineering, AI for infrastructure, or disaster risk reduction. Required application materials include a CV, a short research interest statement (1–2 pages), and an academic transcript if available.
Selected candidates will have opportunities to collaborate with international partner universities, access research datasets and infrastructure, participate in joint publications, and contribute to regional disaster resilience research. Interested applicants are encouraged to contact the announcer, Prasanti Widyasih Sarli (Lecturer at ITB), via email to discuss research alignment prior to submission.
