Graduate Teaching & Research Assistant in Finance – Entrepreneurial Finance
The University of Antwerp, a dynamic and forward-thinking European institution, invites applications for a full-time Graduate Teaching & Research Assistant position in the field of finance, specifically entrepreneurial finance. As part of the Academic Assistant Staff (AAP), you will dedicate at least 50% of your working time to preparing and defending a PhD thesis in entrepreneurial finance. The role also includes assisting with teaching, research, and service activities within the Department of Accountancy and Finance, Faculty of Business and Economics.
PhD research responsibilities involve organizing your own doctoral project, regularly reporting progress, participating in the Antwerp Doctoral School, presenting findings at academic conferences, and publishing in scientific journals. You will also contribute to attracting national and international research funding and compete for an FWO scholarship.
Educational duties include supporting and teaching academic classes in finance, developing teaching methods and materials, evaluating coursework, and supervising Bachelor and Master dissertations. The teaching role will evolve with the study programmes, offering opportunities for professional growth and development.

Applicants must hold (or expect to hold by the start date) a Master degree in business and economics, business engineering, business engineering: management information systems, or finance, with excellent study results. Research and teaching qualities should align with university policies and vision. The appointment is for two years, renewable twice up to a maximum of six years, with a gross monthly salary according to the assistant pay scale. The planned start date is 15 September 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.
