Postdoctoral Position in Computational Materials Design and Quantum Computing at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute

The 3D Materials Lab at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) is recruiting a postdoctoral fellow for research in computational materials design and quantum computing. The lab, led by Assistant Professor Prashun Gorai, focuses on the discovery and design of new functional materials for energy and next-generation microelectronics. The postdoc will work on computational modeling of functional materials using density functional theory (DFT) and quantum computing approaches. Applicants should have a PhD in materials science, chemical engineering, chemistry, physics, or a closely related field. Required skills include strong experience with plane-wave electronic structure codes and proficiency in Python programming. Experience with machine learning methods is desirable but not mandatory. Candidates with a primarily experimental research background are not suitable for this position. The position is fully funded through research grants and teaching assistantships.
