Postdoctoral Position in Medicinal Chemistry for Small-Molecule Therapeutics (India, Switzerland, Netherlands Collaboration)

The Central University of Punjab is inviting applications for a 1.5-year postdoctoral research position in Medicinal Chemistry, focusing on the design and synthesis of novel small-molecule therapeutics for myeloid leukemias. This opportunity is part of an international collaborative project involving partners in Switzerland and the Netherlands, as well as an industry collaborator. The successful candidate will join the Laboratory for Drug Design and Synthesis within the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Natural Products, under the supervision of Professor Raj Kumar. The research will center on synthetic organic and medicinal chemistry, with an emphasis on multi-step heterocycle synthesis, analytical characterization, and the drug discovery process. Candidates should have a PhD in Synthetic Organic, Medicinal, or Pharmaceutical Chemistry, and must have qualified a national-level test such as GPAT, GATE, NET, or equivalent. Experience in in silico studies and knowledge of in vitro assay development and testing are preferred. The position is open to candidates under the age of 40. The postdoctoral fellow will receive a monthly salary of ₹65,000 for the duration of 1.5 years. The position is based in Bathinda, India, and offers the chance to work in a dynamic, internationally connected research environment. The project aims to advance the development of new therapeutic agents for leukemia, providing valuable experience in both academic and industry-linked research. Interested applicants should send an updated CV and contact details of two referees (including their PhD supervisor) to [email protected], using the subject line 'Med Chem Postdoc Position'. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
