Cranfield University is offering the Commonwealth Split-Site PhD Scholarship for the 2025/26 academic year, targeting current PhD students registered at universities in eligible Commonwealth countries. The scholarship enables recipients to conduct 12 months of research in the UK, focusing on hydrogen research (including green hydrogen production, storage in batteries and fuel cells, conversion via electrolysers and catalysis), as well as the manufacturing of photovoltaic and optoelectronic devices. The opportunity is fully funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, covering tuition, living stipend, and travel. Applicants must be citizens or have refugee status in an eligible Commonwealth country, be unable to afford UK study without the scholarship, and have an institutional or departmental link between their home university and Cranfield University. By September 2025, candidates should hold at least an upper second-class (2:1) honours degree or a lower second-class degree with a relevant postgraduate qualification.
