Senior Lecturer in Computer Science and Data Science at University of Chester
The University of Chester is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Computer Science and a Senior Lecturer in Data Science to join the School of Computer & Engineering Sciences. The successful candidate will contribute to high-quality teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with a focus on keeping the curriculum at the forefront of artificial intelligence (AI) and related fields. Areas of particular interest include Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Generative AI, Data-Centric and Responsible AI, and AI for real-world applications such as health, cybersecurity, robotics, and business analytics. Experience deploying AI systems in practice or collaborating with industry or public-sector partners is especially valued.
Responsibilities include curriculum development, research, and knowledge exchange in computer science and AI, as well as participation in interdisciplinary projects, outreach, and external engagement. The role requires a relevant higher degree in Computer Science or a closely related discipline, teaching experience, and a passion for developing innovative learning experiences. Candidates who do not already hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education or Fellowship of Advance HE (FHEA) will be supported in obtaining one.
