PhD in Company and/or Association Law at Jan Ronse Institute, KU Leuven

The Jan Ronse Institute for Company and Financial Law at KU Leuven is offering two full-time PhD positions in the field of company and/or association law. The institute, part of the Law Faculty's Department of Economic Law, is renowned for its teaching and research in corporate and financial law. Successful candidates will undertake a doctoral dissertation in company law or association law, with the flexibility to propose their own research topic, guided by the institute's academic staff throughout their PhD trajectory. PhD students will participate in limited teaching and institute activities, including tutorials, seminars, and supervision of master theses. The institute fosters a collaborative environment, offering opportunities to contribute to joint publications and attend conferences at both Belgian and international levels. Support is provided for individual research projects, ensuring a stimulating academic experience. Applicants must possess a Master of Law or a Master in Economics, Law and Business Administration, with excellent academic results (minimum cum laude). A strong foundation and demonstrated interest in company law are essential, as is proficiency in Dutch, English, and French. Candidates with practical legal experience are particularly welcome. The positions are full-time (100%) appointments for one year, renewable up to four years, with standard PhD funding provided by KU Leuven.
