About this position

Two researcher positions in project AEGIS - Ancient Environmental Genomics Initiative for Sustainability at MARUM - Center for Marine Environmental Sciences, University of Bremen: The international initiative AEGIS led by Eske Willerslev at the University of Copenhagen (Københavns Universitet) seeks to decipher how past plant ecosystems adapted to climate change and climate extremes and to explore how these adaptive strategies can inform the development of climate-resilient crops.  The MARUM team will be contributing to this exciting project with biomarker analyses and sediment core scanning techniques to study the environmental conditions and stress responses experienced by ancient plants and agricultural crops during major climatic transitions. For this, we have opened the search for a PhD position and a postdoctoral researcher, 4 year-terms each. Another ad for a technician will follow shortly.
