This position comes with 5-year funding from the Institute, including a competitive stipend, travel support, and research expenses.Research Focus:We seek candidates who are interested in exploring the intersections of design history with contemporary social and environmental challenges in India/South Asia. Frugal Design / JugaadWho We Are Looking For:We are on the lookout for highly motivated individuals who: • Are passionate about Design History and Qualitative Research. • Love to read and write, with a deep curiosity about design history and its impact. • Are interested in exploring Design Archives and Oral Histories. • Have opinions on social and design issues and are eager to contribute to critical discussions. • Are dynamic and flexible, ready to take on multiple roles within a research team and adapt to evolving challenges.Preliminary Application Process:Interested candidates are encouraged to send an email with a short research proposal (1200-2000 words) covering: 1. Topic/Area (What?): Define your proposed research area or question. 2. Research Gap: Identify the gap in existing research that your project seeks to address. 3. Your Positionality: Explain your personal and academic stance on the topic. 4. Methodology (How?): Outline your proposed research methods. 5. Relevance (What?
