The Consortium for Researching Inclusive Cultures in the Arts (CRICA) is a collaborative doctoral training programme led by the University of Roehampton and the London School of Economics (LSE), funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council. CRICA offers fully funded PhD studentships and Collaborative Doctoral Awards for research at the intersection of disability, inclusion, and the participatory and performing arts. The programme aims to investigate how inclusive cultural practices and spaces are created and experienced, and how these can inform broader societal and economic changes. Students will be supervised by leading scholars from Roehampton and LSE, with opportunities for mentorship, experiential labs, workshops, and embedded placements within partner arts organisations.

Research themes include inclusive approaches to performance, pedagogies, disability valuation in the arts, embodied knowledge, barriers to equality, and the analysis of creative practices and inclusivity. Applicants are encouraged to propose their own research projects and contact potential supervisors to discuss fit. The programme is open to all nationalities and provides a full stipend, tuition coverage, and supplementary funding for training and development.
