About this position
PhD Opportunity at RMIT!!
?? I'm recruiting PhD candidates to work with me in the Human-Computer Interaction group at RMIT University! ?? I’m especially interested in hearing from candidates who want to conduct research into the future of human-centred AI for social connection.
This research seeks to understand how AI systems should be designed to enrich social connectedness and human relationships. Projects may involve designing new AI-based technologies for enhancing social connection, mixed-methods evaluation of user experience, and investigating the impact of AI mediation on relationships.
Ideal candidates will have:
- A master's degree in HCI or a closely related discipline
- Good technical skills and experience with quantitative and/or qualitative evaluation techniques
- Interest in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Social Computing and Computer Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW)
- An interest in designing technology for close personal relationships
- Good communication skills in English
- Willingness to learn
- A collaborative and open mindset, prepared to fully participate in the growing HCI group at RMIT
