About this position

The project aims to investigate actions of Lie algebras (and related algebras and groups) on certain objects which have an underlying structure of a noncommutative ring. Such algebraic objects often arise from physics. One possible direction is the study of Clifford algebras of the so-called quadratic modules over a simple Lie algebra. An example of these is the adjoint module: its Clifford algebra was mostly described by Bertram Kostant in 1997, whereas more recent results in this direction were obtained by Joseph, Alekseev-Moreau, De Concini-Papi-Procesi, Bazlov, and Ademehin. Other possibilities include researching algebraic structures with an action of a quantum group. The project suits a candidate with background in Lie algebras and/or representation theory.
