The position is closely affiliated with the NTNU Applied Cryptology Lab (NaCl), providing access to ongoing research activities and international academic collaborations.
Applicants must hold a relevant Master's degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related field, with strong academic results. Master students may apply if their degree is completed before starting. Required qualifications include a grade B or better in MSc studies and C or better in Bachelor studies, advanced programming skills (preferably in C++, Rust, or Go), and the ability to perform research in a cross-disciplinary environment. Non-native English or Scandinavian speakers must provide evidence of English proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS, or Cambridge certificates). Preferred attributes include good organization and communication skills, relevant publication activities, and motivation for fundamental scientific research.
The position offers a gross salary of NOK 550,800 per annum, with a 2% statutory contribution to the State Pension Fund deducted.
