About this position

Advances in 3D medical imaging and additive manufacturing have enabled the design and 3D printing of patient-specific implants, allowing for customization based on bone geometry, fixation methods, and clinical needs. The project aims to virtually test these implants under musculoskeletal forces associated with chewing and validate the computational models with experimental data from 3D printed implants.

As a PhD student, you will gain technical skills in computational modelling, 3D image analysis, and experimental testing, as well as broader experience in preclinical testing of medical devices. Training will cover laboratory methods, health and safety, project management, scientific writing, and presentation skills.
