The Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) is offering a full-time PhD opportunity for a motivated predoctoral researcher to join the Climate, Air Pollution, Nature and Urban Health program. The project focuses on assessing the health burden attributable to wildfire smoke in Europe, contributing to the Horizon CATALYSE project and the Lancet Countdown for Climate and Health. The successful candidate will conduct multi-country epidemiological studies linking wildfire smoke exposure to mortality and morbidity, analyze large health datasets using R, and draft original articles for publication. The position offers the chance to work in an international, multidisciplinary environment at the forefront of public health research, with a strong emphasis on informing policy. Applicants must hold a Master's degree (or equivalent) in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Biomedicine, or a related field, with strong quantitative and programming skills (preferably in R) and proficiency in English.
