Include a motivation letter (max 1000 words), CV, names and contact information for two referees, MA thesis or writing sample, course assessments, and MA degree certificate (or supervisor contact if thesis not yet submitted). Requirements
Applicants must hold a ResMA/MRes or MA with a specialisation in history, early modern studies, or languages, awarded by the time of appointment with a grade of 8.0 or above (on a ten-point scale) for the thesis. Candidates should have well-developed research skills, creative and analytical abilities, and a clear writing style. Professional working proficiency in English is required, with proficiency in German, French, and/or Dutch (especially reading) preferred or willingness to learn. Experience with or willingness to learn early modern handwriting in Dutch, English, German, and French is expected. Knowledge of Latin is a bonus. Candidates must be willing to work up to 6 months in archives in the UK, Belgium, France, and Germany, and relocate to the Netherlands for the duration of the project. Proven time-management skills, teamwork, and independence are required.
