About this position

The Department of Pharmacy at Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, invites applications for the ANRF–National Postdoctoral Fellowship (NPDF) in Advanced Drug Delivery. This prestigious fellowship is designed for highly motivated early-career researchers interested in conducting independent, high-impact research in advanced pharmaceutical drug delivery systems, with a focus on novel and targeted drug delivery approaches. The NPDF is aimed at identifying and supporting outstanding young researchers in frontier areas of science and engineering. Fellows will work under the mentorship of Dr. Gautam Singhvi, Associate Professor, and will have the opportunity to develop as independent researchers. The fellowship is open to Indian citizens who have obtained a Ph.D., M.D., or M.S. degree from a recognized university, or have submitted their thesis and are awaiting the award of the degree. Applicants must have at least two published papers and be within five years of their Ph.D. viva-voce. The upper age limit is 35 years, with relaxation for eligible categories.

The fellowship provides a competitive stipend of Rs. 80,000 per month plus HRA (or Rs. 50,000 per month plus HRA for those awaiting degree award), a research grant of Rs. 2,00,000 per annum, and overheads of Rs. 1,00,000 per annum. The tenure is two years, and the fellowship is taxable under Indian income tax rules. The host institution will provide necessary administrative and infrastructural support.

Applicants must not have previously availed the NPDF, and the mentor cannot be the applicant's Ph.D. supervisor or from the same department/institution where the applicant earned their degree.
