The Department of Korean Medicine at Dongguk University, South Korea, invites applications from highly motivated international Ph.D. holders for a postdoctoral research professor position under the prestigious 2026 Brain Pool Korea Program, funded by the Korean Government. This program offers a dynamic research environment with significant financial and administrative support, aiming to attract global talent to advance research in health sciences and Korean medicine.

Research in this position will focus on cutting-edge topics such as the microbiome, metabolic disease, obesity, ageing, integrated OMICs, herbal medicine, and precision medicine. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with high-quality clinical data and advanced multi-omics pipelines (including microbiome and metabolome analysis) at a top university hospital. The research group is led by Professor Hojun Kim, a recognized expert in the field, based at Dongguk University Ilsan Hospital (College of Korean Medicine).

Funding and Benefits: The position offers a competitive salary starting at a minimum of 60,000,000 KRW per year (negotiable based on experience), with an additional 1,000,000 KRW per month as a research living allowance. Comprehensive relocation support is provided, including full coverage for airfare, moving expenses, and insurance. For those relocating with family, financial assistance for children's education is available. The program is designed to foster research growth and international collaboration.

Eligibility: Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in Microbiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Pharmacology, Medicine, or a closely related field. A strong background in one or more of the following areas is required: microbiome, OMICs, herbal medicine, metabolic disease, or precision medicine. Candidates should have a strong publication record, preferably with papers in top-ranked journals, and demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively in a research-oriented team environment.
