The University of Luxembourg invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher position under the Chair in Cyber Policy within the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance (FDEF). The successful candidate will conduct research and contribute to various activities within the scope of ongoing research projects, including drafting research papers, preparing scientific materials for project meetings, and organizing project events. The role also involves independent research in related topics, publication of articles in scientific journals, and contributions to conferences. Additional responsibilities include assisting with teaching activities (one to three hours per week), tutoring students, preparing further research proposals, and coordinating young researchers in the field.

Supervision will be provided by Professor Niovi Vavoula, an expert in the field. The ideal applicant will hold a PhD in Law with a specialisation in Cybersecurity law, IT law, Law & Technology, Data Protection, or Artificial Intelligence. A research focus on cybersecurity from an international law perspective is considered an asset. Candidates should demonstrate a strong interest in cyber policy, including cybersecurity, cyber defence, cybercrime, and cyber sovereignty, as well as interdisciplinary research. Academic or practical experience in related topics is advantageous. Proven ability to conduct autonomous research at a post-doctoral level is required. Fluency in written and oral English is mandatory; knowledge of a second language, preferably French or German, is considered an advantage.
