The Department of Nutrition, Exercise, and Sports at the University of Copenhagen is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Sustainable Nutrition and Health Research Group. The position focuses on Dietary Protein Requirements, with a special emphasis on Protein Quality and its role in human nutrition. The successful candidate will work within the ReqProQ research project, which aims to reevaluate current recommendations for dietary protein intake by considering protein quality, particularly in the context of a shift towards more plant-based diets.

The research involves conducting two randomized, controlled human trials using stable isotope methodologies: one utilizing the Indicator Amino Acid Oxidation approach and the other focusing on whole-body protein turnover measurements. The postdoc will be responsible for preparing study protocols, setting up laboratories, conducting trials, analyzing data, and disseminating results. Additional responsibilities include teaching and supervising BSc and MSc students, contributing to the department’s research portfolio in dietary protein quality, and collaborating with both internal and external partners.

The position is fully funded for four years by Novozymes A/S (Novonesis Group), with a starting monthly salary of 39,237 DKK (approx. 5,266 EUR) and an 18.07% pension contribution. Foreign and Danish applicants with a PhD who have not lived in Denmark in the last 10 years may be eligible for tax reductions. Applicants must have a relevant PhD (Nutrition, Physiology, Medicine, Biology, Agronomy, or similar), excellent English skills, and experience in human intervention trials and empirical assessment methods for protein quality. Desirable qualifications include experience with stable isotope methodology, setting up new experimental methods, and knowledge of human nutrient requirements and dietary recommendations. Danish language skills are an advantage but not required.
