Karolinska Institutet's Institute of Environmental Medicine is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Unit of Biochemical Toxicology in Solna, Sweden. This position focuses on developing novel methodologies for the assessment and identification of endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs), utilizing New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) and Adverse Outcome Pathways (AOPs). The research is anchored in toxicology, regulatory science, and data modeling, with an emphasis on integrating in silico, in vitro, and in vivo data for regulatory-relevant research. No wet lab work is required; instead, the role involves quantitative AOP development, case studies, and scientific writing.

The successful candidate will work in a highly interdisciplinary and collaborative environment at one of the world's leading medical universities. The research group, led by Associate Professor Anna Beronius, is dedicated to understanding the connection between chemical exposure and complex health effects, such as cancer and endocrine disruption. The position is part of the EU project MERLON and offers opportunities to contribute to health risk assessment methodologies that meet the needs of decision makers.

Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent degree in a relevant field, with a strong background in endocrine disruption research, EDC assessment, and experience with AOPs and NAMs. Solid knowledge of endocrine system mechanisms, AOP framework, dose-response modeling, and transcriptomics data analysis is highly valued. Basic understanding of regulatory assessment and systematic review methodology is desired. Strong communication skills in English and the ability to work well in a team are essential.

The position is a 2-year full-time contract, with the possibility of extension for a third year. Employment includes monthly salary and benefits under the Swedish state university collective agreement.
