The Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, through its Department of Hydro and Renewable Energy, is inviting applications for project staff positions at the newly established Centre for Regulatory Affairs. The available roles include Project Fellow (requiring a PhD in electrical engineering with a focus on power systems or in energy systems modelling and analysis) and Research Associate (requiring a Master's degree in electrical engineering, operations research/management, or applied optimization in energy). The project staff will engage in reviewing and analyzing power and energy sector regulations and policies both in India and globally, as well as performing energy systems modelling tasks such as capacity expansion, production cost simulation, and resource adequacy analysis. The work environment is research-intensive, with opportunities to organize and participate in meetings, workshops, and conferences. Experience with optimization-related software is desirable. The positions offer competitive monthly emoluments (Project Fellow: Rs. 40,000–1,00,000 + HRA; Research Associate: Rs. 30,000–75,000 + HRA) and are initially for one year, extendable up to five years based on performance.
