My colleague Dr Arnab Palit is looking for a motivated researcher to join a truly interdisciplinary PhD project focused on revolutionising total hip replacement (THR) surgery — for those who want to make a real difference in surgical outcomes and patient care.
?? The goal?
To develop a vision-based, marker-less surgical navigation system using deep learning — making surgeries faster, safer, and smarter. ??
?? What you’ll be working on:
- Synthetic and real-world image datasets
- Deep learning for segmentation and registration
- Integration with THR planning systems
- Validation in cadaveric experiments
?? Collaborate with engineers, surgeons, and computer scientists
?? Funded for 3.5 years (UKRI stipend, fees, £5K training support)
