Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Bio-inspired Neuro Robotics and Applied Artificial Intelligence

The Bio-Inspired Robotics & Design Laboratory (BIRD Lab) at the School of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur (IITJ), India, is seeking applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow position in Bio-inspired Neuro Robotics and Applied Artificial Intelligence. The research focus includes bio-inspired robotic mechanisms, intelligent actuation, neuro-robotic control systems using EMG/EEG-based interfaces, AI-driven adaptive prosthetics and exoskeletons, human–robot interaction, rehabilitation robotics, soft robotics, and wearable robotic systems. The lab aims to develop energy-efficient, intelligent, and human-centered robotic systems with significant translational impact in healthcare and assistive technologies. Eligibility criteria require a Ph.D. in Robotics, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, AI, or closely related fields. Applicants should have expertise in embedded systems, real-time implementation, machine learning or deep learning, EMG/EEG signal processing, and experience with prosthetics or exoskeleton systems. A strong publication record in reputed journals or conferences (ICRA, IROS, RA-L, IEEE, ASME, etc.) is expected. Desired skills include experimental prototyping, proficiency in MATLAB, Python, ROS, or Embedded C, hardware development, system integration, and a strong motivation for interdisciplinary and translational research.
