CAJAL Neuromics Course 2026: Single-Cell and Spatial Omics in Neuroscience for PhD Students and Postdocs
The CAJAL Neuromics Course 2026 offers an intensive three-week training program in single-cell and spatial omics technologies applied to neuroscience. Co-directed by Gioele La Manno (École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne), Hannah Hochgerner (Technion – Israel Institute of Technology), and Alexandre Favereaux (Université de Bordeaux), the course will be held at the Bordeaux School of Neuroscience, France, from June 22 to July 10, 2026.
This course is designed for PhD students and postdoctoral fellows from neuroscience, computational biology, and related fields. Participants will receive hands-on training in single-cell genomics, spatial transcriptomics, and multi-omics approaches, with a curriculum that integrates both experimental and computational components. The program includes lectures from leading scientists, laboratory sessions, computational workshops, and collaborative mini-projects, providing a comprehensive experience in modern neurobiological research.
Key topics covered include experimental design, data generation, computational analysis, and biological interpretation of high-throughput genomic datasets from neural tissues. Techniques such as single-cell and single-nucleus RNA sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, single-cell epigenomics, and multi-omics integration will be taught. Computational modules will address data preprocessing, cell type identification, trajectory analysis, spatial data analysis, and machine learning applications in genomics.
Participants will gain expertise in designing and executing omics experiments, applying computational methods, integrating multi-modal data, and interpreting results in the context of neural development, disease mechanisms, and therapeutic target identification. The course also emphasizes best practices in data management, reproducibility, and scientific communication.
The Bordeaux School of Neuroscience provides state-of-the-art facilities, including wet labs, imaging rooms, and IT infrastructure, supporting a collaborative and immersive learning environment. The registration fee is €4,500, covering tuition, accommodation, and meals. The application deadline is February 25, 2026. For more information and to apply, visit the official course website.
