PhD Positions in Manufacturing Optimization and Materials at Manipal University Jaipur

Manipal University Jaipur is inviting applications for two funded PhD positions in the field of manufacturing optimization and materials, starting January 2026. The positions are supervised by Prof. Ajay Kumar, a top-ranked scientist and editor of leading journals, along with other faculty members. The research areas include 3D/4D printing, additive manufacturing, bioprinting, incremental sheet forming, machining, welding (including friction stir welding), smart materials, biomaterials, polymers, and the application of AI and machine learning for optimization in manufacturing processes. Applicants should have a strong background in manufacturing and materials, with hands-on experience in experimental techniques and proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD and Solidworks. Eligibility requires a Bachelor's degree (B.Tech) with at least 75% marks or a Master's degree (M.Tech) with at least 55% marks. Candidates who have cleared M.Phil, UGC-CSIR NET, JRF, SLET, GATE, or are Teacher Fellows are exempted from the entrance examination. SC/ST candidates receive a 5% relaxation in minimum marks. The program offers a competitive monthly scholarship: INR 35,000 in Year 1, INR 40,000 in Year 2, and INR 45,000 in Year 3, with an annual tuition fee of INR 30,000. Additional support includes funding for consumables, characterization, travel, publication incentives, and IPR/patent support.
